An intrepid team from trade magazine Professional Electrician and Installer and the regional electrical exhibition Elex, took part in the Mazda London triathlon in August and raised over £1,450 for the EEIBA.
The event featured a 1,500-metre open water swim; a 40km bike ride and a 10km run – all around the London docklands area. The team that undertook the event were: Editor of Professional Electrician, Jonathan Cole; Elex organiser Colin Gale; and Marcus Hooper from one of PE’s sister magazines, Professional Builder.
Team Captain & swimmer Jonathan Cole commented: “The Mazda London Triathlon is a fantastic event and it was wonderful to be part of it. We completed the course in 2.45:02, placing us 165th out of 406 teams – a creditable result for a scratch team! We all enjoyed the experience immensely and are already planning another challenge… so watch this space.”
Cyclist Colin Gale added: “Raising money for such a great cause really added to the experience. Thanks to everyone who has generously supported us.”
