Kent Golf Day

EEIBA‘s Kent Golf Day took place on 12 June at Faversham Golf Club, in near perfect golfing weather.  With the support of electrical contractors, wholesalers, energy supply companies and companies that provide services to the Association nationally, together with the Kent-based Twelve Electric Club, over 60 players took part.

The winning team, taking home the David Elliott Shield, was Blue Fin with 94 points – Mark Wood (10), Matthew Fowle (6), Rob Bliss (21) and Glenn Fisher (16).  (The runners up were in the EDF Energy Contracting team with 93 points!)

The prestigious Jack Carte Trophy, remembering a long time Kent supporter – Jack Carte, for the individual player competition, was won by Guy Lambert (handicap 21) with 42 points.  Rob Bliss (21) in the Blue Fin team won the 18 – 28 handicap competition with 40 points, while Andy Morphew (15) in the EDF Energy Contracting team won the scratch to 17 handicap competition with 41 points.

The longest drive medal was won by Steve Allum (in the British Energy Contracting team) and nearest the pin by Dave Ryn (playing in the EDF Energy team).

“Thank you to everyone for supporting the event and for the good spirit during the day.  Together, we raised around £1,500 for EEIBA’s on-going welfare work in Kent” said Timothy Lambert, EEIBA’s Chief Executive, at the awards’ presentation.
