ELECTRICAL MAGAZINES TEAM UP TO HELP EEIBA

It is not often that the electrical press joins together but that’s exactly what it’s doing with editors from some of the leading titles in the electrical trade press combining to raise money for EEIBA.

A team comprising of Joe Bush (Electrical Engineering), Jonathan Cole (Professional Electrician), Michael Crane (Electrical Contracting News), Ben Cronin, Steve Hardiman and Hazel Swain (Electrical Times) and Electrical Wholesaler’s Tracey Rushton-Thorpe will take part in the 24-hour Three Peaks Challenge over the weekend 8-9 May.

The team of seven will attempt to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within a 24-hour time period. All groups entering the challenge will be expected to navigate for themselves and organise their own transport between the three peaks and with over 25-miles of walking and climbing some 10,000 feet, this is considered to be an extremely demanding challenge.

The team hopes that by joining together it can raise as much money as possible for EEIBA and because the NICEIC has generously donated the entrance fee, every pound raised will be donated to the Charity.

“We don’t expect you to join us for the climbs, but the least you can do is part with a bit of cash for this very worthy cause by visiting our dedicated website: www.justgiving.com/eeiba3peaks” their spokesperson, Tracey Rushton-Thorpe said.

“All donations will be gratefully accepted and we will publish the names of all companies or individuals that donate over £250.

As the trade press knows, EEIBA is enduring a lean period at the moment due to a drop in donations and more applications for assistance. It needs as much financial help as the industry can muster – “help us to help them support their industry colleagues in their hour of need.” – they say!
