EEIBA Gloucestershire Area 2008 Golf Competition

The 2008 EEIBA Gloucestershire Area Golf Competition is being held on 26 th June, at its usual venue of Lilley Brook Golf Club, Cheltenham. The event has become very popular and is the main fund raiser for the Gloucestershire branch of the EEIBA. Last year a record £20,000 was raised by participants and through very generous sponsorship.

British Energy organises the event on behalf of the EEIBA and are the main sponsor. British Energy is the UK’s largest producer of electricity and the lowest carbon emitter of the major UK electricity generators.

This year, four companies who have been traditional supporters of the event are welcomed as prime sponsors; they are:

Alstec Ltd – Alstec operate, maintain, improve, build and upgrade a diverse range of systems and equipment. Their key market sectors are airports, nuclear and defence industries. Alstec have provided the winner’s prize for many years.

Atkins - Atkins is a multinational engineering and design consultancy, providing expertise to help resolve complex challenges presented by the built and natural environment. It is the largest engineering consultancy in the UK, the largest multidisciplinary consultancy in Europe and the world’s fifth largest design firm.

Doosan Babcock Energy – Doosan Babcock is a multi-specialist energy services company operating in the thermal power, nuclear, petrochemical, oil & gas and pharmaceutical industries.  Doosan Babcock is also a leading international steam generation OEM and supplier of the cleanest, most efficient coal powered technology in the world. 

Jacobs Energy – Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is one of the world’s largest and most diverse providers of professional technical services. In the UK, it provides a full range of technical and management consultancy services, operating in oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, transport and development, environment and utilities, property and structures, defence, nuclear energy, partnerships and outsourcings markets.

The event is also expected to attract support from up to 20 organisations associated with the power generation industry and those that provide services to nuclear clean up operations in the UK.
