Care and support

EEIBA looks after people - individuals and families - who need support and encouragement; we focus on the well being of those in need.

EEIBA has a team of volunteers throughout the country who, together with EEIBA's Welfare Officers, visit potential and existing beneficiaries.

We provide information and advice, which means we help fill in forms, deal with correspondence and contact support agencies.

We give grants - one-off and regular cash payments to balance the household budget. We finance essential household items, keep children clothed and fed and provide equipment for the disabled. We are always ready to give a helping hand at difficult times or in a crisis. Through our sheltered housing programme, we accommodate the more active elderly in 19 self-contained flats at Buckingham Court, Selly Oak, Birmingham.

Throughout the year, we receive close to 1,000 new applications for welfare help. The total number of individuals and families we help is approximately 3,500 and half of them are of working age.
