When one reaches their seventies, usually the fitness enjoyed in younger years is not as great as it was. June Farrow, who is 76 years of age, is one example.
Being unable to drive for many years she relied on her husband - who worked for Eastern Electricity, to take her to the nearest shop which is 2 miles away.
Sadly he died last year, so recently she has had to accept the kindness of friends to take her to the shops, or ride her pushbike. In the depths of a Norfolk winter that is no fun, even for those a lot younger.
So June approached the EEIBA for help in purchasing an electric bike. The funds were quickly provided and now she is able to go to the shops, visit her friends, and enjoy the Norfolk countryside.
She has told Positive News that she has no plans for next year's Tour De France - they do not allow electric bikes!
