Help for Paul

Paul Hodgson Paul Hodgson, who contracted polio when he was very young, lives in Heanor, Derbyshire, with his wife and children.

He was able to work until 14 years ago when it became just too much. Some three years ago, he made contact with the EEIBA, together with other charities, to see whether he could obtain help in purchasing an electric powered vehicle.

We were able to help him with some funding. Last year, Paul received a disabled facilities grant from his local council to enable him to have a proper concrete drive laid as he was finding it increasingly difficult to drive his motability car and EPV over very rough ground to get to his garage.

The grant that he received would not cover the total cost of the work and having asked the builder to trim the costs, there was still a shortfall. So he contacted the EEIBA and other charities to see whether they could help. EEIBA was pleased to make up the difference.
