It's expensive when you move!

Mrs Hunter

Mrs Hunter, whose late husband worked at Ferrybridge C Power Station for 20 years, first contacted the EEIBA Help Line in February 2005 when she was moving from rented to sheltered accommodation.

She was looking for help with removal costs and also help in the purchase of a new bed as her existing bed would not fit the smaller bedroom in her new home.

In addition, she needed a new cooker as her existing one was gas and her new flat was all electric.

The RWE Npower Benevolent Society was able to provide both of these items, together with some assistance towards the cost of moving.

As a result of regular welfare visits by the EEIBA Regional Welfare visitor, more recently, the Society has helped with the provision of a television and fridge when Mrs Hunter's old ones broke down.
