Sole trader calls for help from the EEIBA

Joanna Francis In 1998, Joanna Francis, who lives in Norfolk, started her own electrical contracting business, Bright Spark Electrical.

A member of the Electrical Contractors’ Association, the company has flourished and the very popular Joanna can often be spotted around the local area driving her attractive white van emblazoned with her company name and the ECA logo.

Recently, Joanna had a problem when she was taken ill and had to spend a considerable time in hospital.

Being a sole trader this caused her financial problems. Joanna initially approached Angie Turner, ECA Eastern Regional Manager, to see where she could apply for help. Angie immediately suggested that she should contact the EEIBA.

The charity was pleased to provide the funds to see her through this difficult time. We are delighted to report that Joanna is now back at work part time – her father assisting her with the driving.

Angie said, “It just goes to prove, you never know when you are going to need help.”
