Quality of life increases

Mrs AmosMrs Amos, whose late husband worked at Drax Power Station, is 84. She moved into her council bungalow about three years ago.

At that time she was doing her washing by hand, but this was getting increasingly difficult resulting in painful hands as she tried to wring out the clothes.

Through the EEIBA Help Line and our Regional Welfare Officer, she requested help and was provided with a suitable washing machine.

EEIBA's Regional Welfare Officer has continued to visit Mrs Amos regularly and we have supplied a small cooker when her old one failed, an electric fire and a second hand reclining chair, thanks to the help of the RWE Npower Benevolent Society.

This support has helped Mrs Amos' quality of life increase immensely.
