Ex-power station worker relies totally on his wife

Vince Miller Vince Miller lives with his wife Janice, in Derbyshire.

He had worked in power stations in Wales for over 20 years. Following an accident he was on life support for three weeks, and is now a tetraplegic using a self-propelled wheelchair.

He drives a Motability car, his wheelchair is his 'legs' allowing him to get around the house but he is totally reliant on Janice for his needs.

They contacted the EEIBA to see whether we could help to make their lives easier and we provided assistance.

We funded part of the cost of relocating his car hoist, they now have disabled facilities installed in their house, including a level access shower, their doors have been widened and they now have ramps.
