Following an approach to the
Council and having been told
that there was at least a two year
wait for a stair lift,
Mrs Burrows, 82, approached
EEIBA's Help Line for
assistance.
She has arthritis in both legs, which causes her problems in walking, particularly in climbing the stairs.
EEIBA's Regional Welfare Officer visited and arranged for an occupational therapist to assess Mrs Burrows to ensure that any stair lift provided would be suitable for her needs.
Assessment was carried out, estimates obtained and a case put forward requesting assistance. Agreement was given and the stair lift installed.
Mrs Burrows is now finding it much easier to go up stairs and her quality of life has improved dramatically.
